And by that, I mean I am legal to be in Kenya for another 3 months. I renewed my visa and it went more smoothly than I expected! Plus, I had to apply for an 'Alien' card since I'll be here for a while. Ha, it is almost as offensive as it sounds.
The good/bad news (depending on how you look at it) is that after 3 months, I have to leave Kenya and come back. So I'll probably be hopping to Ethiopia or somewhere for the weekend in May. My other options include UAE and India. Ironically, it is cheaper to fly to India or the Middle East than it is to fly to Juba. Which I think is silly, but I'm sure there is a perfectly good economical explanation for this.
"My other options include UAE and India." i am jealous. i would do both. especially UAE, but that's the architect nut in me speaking, hah. but seriously, India! how awesome would that be for a few days?
ReplyDeleteI know! I was completely leaning towards India, but then figured if I want to really experience it I need at least a month...if I go someplace I never thought of going, then it won't be so bad when I leave. I thought Yemen would be a funny place to say I've been. Mostly because the people from there are called 'Yemenis'. Awesome.
ReplyDeleteYou should go to India! But for how long would you have to leave for? and why would you have to leave??still dont understand
ReplyDeleteHey Punam,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment :)
I want to go to India really, really badly. But I think I want to go so badly as to really experience it, not just for a few days (which is how long I have to be gone for). I have to go because you can only stay in Kenya 6 months at a time on a tourist visa, so I need to leave then come back as if I'm 'brand new' to the country.
Hehe but I was thinking--maybe some day on one of your trips to India you can bring me along!

Of course I would bring you along what a silly question! Do you know where you will be going?!?
ReplyDeleteI am thinking Ethiopia (to Addis Ababa) for a few days :)
